Privacy Policy

Overview

GraderCalculator is designed to work without an account. You do not need an account to use our calculators. The grade values you enter into them are processed in your browser and are not sent to our server, are not stored by us, and are not visible to anyone else. The site does use analytics, so it is not accurate to say it collects no data at all. This policy explains what we do collect, and how to reach us with questions.

Data we collect: Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic: which pages are visited, how many people visit, and roughly what device or browser they used. This is standard, anonymized-at-scale traffic measurement, not a record of your individual calculator inputs.

Google Analytics may set cookies and use similar technologies to distinguish one visitor session from another. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using your browser's tracking-protection or cookie settings.

Advertising

This site does not currently display third-party advertising. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated first, and any advertising partner's own cookie and data practices will be disclosed here before ads go live.

Local browser storage

A few small preferences are saved in your browser's local storage so the site can remember them on your next visit: your dark/light theme, the grading scale you last selected (including any custom cutoffs), and a short list of the calculators you opened most recently. These stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data resets them. Scores, weights, and student names you type into a calculator are not saved in local storage.

Calculator inputs

Grades, scores, category weights, student names, and any other values you enter into a calculator are processed by JavaScript running in your own browser. They are not transmitted to, or stored on, our servers. Features such as Copy, Print, and Export CSV create their output locally on your device. The Share button uses your device's own sharing options, or copies text to your clipboard, and shares only the result summary and page link.

Children and student information

This site is intended as a general educational reference and is not directed at collecting personal information from children. Please do not enter sensitive personal information or identifiable student records into any calculator field, comment, or contact message. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us through the contact form, email us at the address below and we will remove it.

Links to other sites

Guides and calculators may link to external resources, including your school's learning platform or third-party tools mentioned for comparison. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites; review their own policies before sharing information there.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes, for example if advertising or new features are added. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
